Delicious 5-Ingredient Margarita Recipe

Hey, Dad Kingdom readers! With all due respect to the marketing genius that coined the term “skinny margarita,” that term does the drink a disservice. Its name implies (to me at least) that the drinker is sacrificing some tequila-induced joy in exchange for fewer calories. But, skinny or not, a margarita without the calorie-laden sour mix can still be delicious, if not more so! Just in time for Cinco de Mayo, I’m here to help you try something different…

This yummy recipe obviously contains Tequila, but instead of sour mix it has sparkling water, orange juice and lime juice. I love the tart citrus flavor of the lime and orange, and the refreshing carbonation of the sparkling water. Finally, the sweet agave syrup takes the edge off. (*Note: In my local grocery store, the agave syrup is next to other “alternative” sweeteners like Splenda.) Of course, as with most drinks, this margarita will only be as good as the quality of ingredients that you buy!

  • 2 oz. – Tequila
  • 2 oz. – 100% Lime Juice
  • 2 oz. – Orange Juice
  • 2 oz. – Lime-flavored Sparkling Water
  • 1 tablespoon of Agave Syrup – just grab a spoon, any spoon!


2 ounces of each thing? Yup, it doesn’t get much easier than that. Just 5 simple and fresh ingredients. Add ice and mix vigorously (or use a blender). Then, salt the rims and add a lime garnish. You’re finished.

I love how easy it is to multiply the ingredients, regardless of how many servings you want. Put 10 or 12 ounces of each main ingredient in a blender and a few minutes later you’ve got a full glorious pitcher.
